Help for ConfigSmith, the Mac app from PWR Industries LLC that builds hardened Cisco switch configs.

Email [email protected]. Found a bug? Report it with the bug report form →

What does ConfigSmith do?

It builds hardened Cisco switch configs for IOS-XE (Catalyst 9200–9600, 3850 and 3650), classic IOS and NX-OS, shows a live security score, and audits running-configs you paste or import.

Does it connect to my switches or the internet?

No. ConfigSmith is fully offline, with no network connections, no account and no telemetry.

Where are my passwords stored?

In the macOS Keychain. Secrets are left out of copies and exports unless you include them, and profile files can encrypt secrets with a passphrase.

What are the system requirements?

macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

How do I get the window back after closing it?

Choose Window › Main Window (⌘0), or click ConfigSmith’s icon in the Dock.
