Veilrunner Help · The session window

Split view & scrollback

Split view

#split divides the main session window (Mac only):

  • The bottom pane shows the latest lines and follows new output.
  • The top pane is older scrollback. It doesn't jump when new text arrives, so you can read back while you keep playing.

With no number, the live pane is 15 lines. A number sets the exact live line count. #split end or #split off returns to one pane. Chat, the map and the actions panel stay as they are.

#split 15 live lines
#split 20 20 live lines
#split 8
#split end back to one pane
#split off same as #split end

Scrollback

  • Each tab keeps its own scrollback. You can set the size in Settings › Display and Text › Scrollback size: from 50,000 to 2,000,000 characters, 200,000 by default.
  • Enter on the command line, even on a blank line, jumps back to the newest text and keeps following. In split view, the live pane stays and the scrollback pane comes down to meet it.
  • Find in Output (⌘F) searches the scrollback.
  • Clear Output (⌘K) clears it.
  • Font size: ⌘+ and ⌘− (9 to 28 pt). The − and + buttons in the session header do the same.
  • #showme {text} prints a line only you see. #bell beeps.
